The TouchstoneVitality Story

TouchstoneVitality was founded by Judith Foster, a researcher, and Keith Collins, a clinician. After distinguished professional careers, both became residents of a senior community in Massachusetts. Their collaboration began with co-authoring articles for their community newsletter, focused on age-related diseases that were relevant to seniors and informed by their own experiences. This work expanded into delivering lectures on these topics, eventually reaching audiences at Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) across the Northeast.

The emergence of artificial intelligence in 2022 marked the arrival of a technology with tremendous possibilities for enhancing senior wellbeing. Keith and Judith embraced the use of AI in their personal and professional lives and were inspired to help others do the same. They initiated workshops and a monthly lecture series to guide residents in using AI tools for daily tasks, family communication, and leisure activities.

Encouraged by the positive response, they co-founded TouchstoneVitality, a company dedicated to integrating artificial intelligence and related technologies into senior communities. Their mission includes implementing innovative technology tools and programs tailored to resident and community needs. Their uniqueness resides in the fact that they have deep professional experience in these fields, while being seniors themselves who understand the needs of these communities because they have lived and worked among them.

Our recent lecture at a local CCRC introduced seniors to the concept of Artificial Intelligence, exploring its history and its influence on their daily lives. It traced AI's evolution from Alan Turing's pioneering work in the 1950s to its modern applications. The presentation emphasized the benefits of AI for seniors, such as enhanced healthcare through diagnostic tools and health monitoring systems.
